Upon returning to the U.S., she held the position of Language Specialist (Professor equivalent) at the University of Kansas until she left that position for a full-time artist studio practice.  Her study of literature continues to inspire and influence her work as does what she sees and experiences in her travels and in her daily experiences.  For the last several years, she has resided in Lawrence, KS, where she also has her studio.
