This group exhibition focuses on rural life, evoking narratives of nostalgia, hard labor, and community. I have two paintings in this show. They focus on the thematic union of the female figure with biotic and abiotic elements while suggesting deeper conceptual themes of growth, renewal, and transformation. The paintings are a visual meditation on resilience, on the possibility for adaptation and open-ended narratives; on one’s own personal journey of becoming and evolving.

Moments of Gesture, curated by author John Hughes, is a group exhibition that focuses on how a painting or drawing suspends a specific moment in time through gesture. The curator comments that my painting “Reverberation” is surprising and trippy, a form partway merging into a face while partway becoming a psychedelic calvacade of plant forms. The self becomes collage, ecosystem, carnival, hallucination.”
